 Monday 10th October 2022. Belo-sur-mer

In the sea for a swim before breakfast - we didn't go far but it was fabulous and the water was a lovely temperature.  We had arranged to go snorkelling and the boat was picking us up at 8.30 after breakfast which for the first time all holiday was delicious.  The boat took an hour to get to the coral atol and we had our very own island with just us, the hotel guide and boatman.  The snorkelling was lovely albeit a little cloudy as it had been windy in the night but we still got to see loads of colourful fish and lots of coral. On the way back our guide and the boatman negotiated with some local fisherman for one of their catch - presumably for their tea.

We arrived back in time for a simple but perfect lunch of egg and cheese sandwiches plus fruit salad, and then relaxed on the deck chairs for a couple of hours and played with our kite for a bit with lots of local children coming to watch.

Later on in the afternoon we decided to walk into the village.  As the tide was rapidly coming in we were given a lift across on a boat and then wandered around the backstreets traying to find our way to the village centre which proved more difficult than we had imagined as the village was quite sprawling. We eventually found a path to the main road and found the village centre and from there the boat building that the village is famed for.  By the time we got back to the inlet the tide had come in completely so we were relieved that the guys from the hotel spotted us and paddled over to get us.

Once again dinner was superb.  Tonight we had crab salad to start, followed by fish, mash and vegetables followed by pineapple tart for pudding washed down with sangria for me and beer for Ian.
